We move freight. We build the tools. We're building the future.
ESSE Inc is a licensed freight carrier and logistics technology company headquartered in Dayton, Ohio. We started with a truck, a DOT number, and a frustration with how outdated the industry's software was. What came next is a platform used by carriers across the country.
Our Story
Built from real operations, not a pitch deck.
ESSE Inc was founded in 2024 in Dayton, Ohio. We started as a licensed freight carrier — USDOT 4323811, MC 1687368 — hauling freight and managing drivers the hard way. We used spreadsheets, email attachments, and phone calls to run compliance. It worked, barely.
The driver onboarding software on the market was either too expensive for a small carrier to justify, or too clunky to actually get drivers through the process fast. We needed something better. So we built our own.
The portal started as an internal tool. Multi-step driver applications, document uploads, e-signatures, admin dashboards. It worked better than anything we'd tried. When we talked to other carriers, they all said the same thing: "We have the exact same problem." That's when ESSE became a platform company.
Today we offer our logistics platform to carriers, fleets, and owner-operators across the country. And we're still a licensed carrier ourselves — which means every feature we build, we use. Currently, we're investing in research and infrastructure for autonomous vehicle operations. Dayton remains home base.
Operating Authority
By the Numbers
Real operations, real metrics.
We're a carrier that also builds carrier software. These numbers reflect what we actually do.
Leadership
The team behind ESSE.
We're a small team that ships fast. Everyone here has a hand in the real operations, not just the product roadmap.
Evgeny Skvortsov
Evgeny built ESSE from the ground up — starting with a CDL authority application and ending up with a full logistics technology platform. His background spans operations, logistics, and software. He wrote the first version of the driver portal himself and continues to lead product direction, carrier partnerships, and company strategy.
Liubov Skvortcova
Liubov runs day-to-day operations at ESSE, overseeing carrier partnerships, compliance programs, and driver relations. She manages the processes that keep ESSE operating as a licensed carrier — from DOT compliance to driver qualification files — and brings that operational perspective into every product decision the team makes.
Our Values
How we think about this business.
These aren't corporate slogans. They're the principles that showed up naturally when we were building from real operations.
Transparency
We publish our FMCSA record publicly. Our USDOT number is on every page of our website. If you're going to trust us with your fleet, you deserve to verify who we are. No fine print.
Technology
We build the tools we use ourselves. Every feature in our platform was built to solve a real problem we encountered running actual freight operations — not to fill a feature checklist.
Trust
Real operations, real compliance, real authority. We're not a software company cosplaying as a logistics company. We're a carrier that also builds software — and the difference matters.
Real Operations
We move freight. We don't just talk about it. That means we feel every pain point our customers feel, and every improvement we ship makes life easier for us too.
Milestones
From authority to platform.
ESSE went from a freight authority application to a full carrier technology platform in under two years. Here's the timeline.
