Carrier Vetting

Verify any carrier
before you hand them freight.

Cargo theft, double brokering, and identity fraud cost the freight industry over $500 million per year. ESSE carrier vetting checks FMCSA SAFER, insurance databases, fraud registries, and communication pattern analysis — all in one lookup.

Getting Started
Three ways to vet carriers with ESSE.

  • Search by MC number or company name

  • Green/Yellow/Red risk rating
  • Save vetting history per carrier
  • Block carrier from future tenders

Double Brokering Prevention
Double brokering fraud. How to spot it. How ESSE stops it.
A "carrier" accepts your load, then re-brokers it to someone else without your knowledge. Your shipper's freight is on a truck you've never vetted — and you have no idea.
Warning Signs
How to Identify Double Brokering
The accepting dispatcher's contact info doesn't match FMCSA registered contacts. The carrier can't provide driver details until last minute. The MC number is newly issued. Driver's GPS doesn't match the listed carrier's home location. Multiple loads accepted simultaneously with no available trucks.
ESSE Detection
How ESSE Catches It
ESSE cross-references the dispatcher contact info provided against FMCSA registered agent contacts. Mismatches are flagged immediately. Phone numbers are checked against fraud databases. MC registration date is shown — recently issued MC on high-value freight is a red flag.
Protection
What To Do When Flagged
When ESSE flags a potential double broker, the rate confirmation send is blocked. A manager must review and approve before the load is tendered. If fraud is confirmed, carrier is added to your block list and reported to the ESSE fraud registry to protect other brokers on the platform.
